Ticket Media CenterOn May 25, the South Korea Day kicked off at the 2019 Beijing Expo. The event started with the completion ceremony of the South Korea Garden, performances of traditional South Korean music, and a handover ceremony of “gate keepers.”
Visitors from both China and abroad tasted South Korea’s representative foods and drinks like bibimbap, green tea and matsutake tea, and enjoyed activities with South Korean style such as a performance of Samul nori, a genre of percussion music originating in South Korea. Those activities enabled them to fully experience South Korean culture.
“Through participating in the 2019 Beijing Expo, I gain a deeper understanding of the importance of ecological progress,” remarked Heo Seok, mayor of Suncheon City, South Korea. “Green development isn’t only a matter of China itself, or China and South Korea, but a global issue that needs efforts from countries around the world. We need protect what haven’t developed yet and restore what have developed, and take concerted actions to promote green development.”
