CCTV Animation Pavilion of Beijing International Horticultural Expo

The CCTV Animation Pavilion of the Beijing International Horticultural Expo is located in the D19 plot of the Park, adjacent to the Botanical Pavilion, covering an area of 1100 square meters. The whole exhibition garden is composed of outdoor landscape, terrace garden and indoor exhibition hall. Various curved lines give the space a variety of flavor. In the relaxing and exciting visiting experience, the visitors can fully appreciate the charm of the integration of Chinese original animation and horticultural art.

The theme of the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Expo is “Green Life, Beautiful Home”. It calls for the harmonious coexistence of mankind and nature to promote the beautiful development of home. As a leading manufacturer of original animation in China, the CCTV Animation has launched more than 300 TV animations and animation films. Its annual production capacity of original animation is about 7000 minutes on average. It has created many excellent works with high quality and high reputation. The animation has been exported to more than 100 countries and regions. The classic animated character of the CCTV Animationn, Nezha, lives in nature with lotus root. His brave, kind and just characters are full of mythological colours, reflecting traditional Chinese virtues. The CCTV Animation Pavilion combines animation with horticulture, takes the classic animated character Nezha as the design inspiration, expresses the architectural theme with Nezha holding a magical ribbon, symbolizes the justice, which can turn hostility into friendship, and embodies the Chinese people’s unchanged values for thousands of years. The ribbon is the main form of design and connection. It also symbolizes the Silk Road connecting the world and spreading the spirit of “Belt and Road Initiative” shared by friendship and cooperation.

The CCTV Animation Pavilion is composed of the full cooperation involving more than ten disciplines such as architecture, curtain wall, landscape, interior, exhibition, plane, interaction, sculpture, lighting, and green plant breeding. After months of polishing and deliberation, the team has been able to put this work into the Expo Park.

The wind movie on the facade of the exhibition garden forms the image that the magical ribbon flying against the wind. The bright red in the exhibition area is an invitation letter to the animation world. It welcomes visitors from all over the world to Beijing International Horticultural Expo and makes them feel as if they were young again.

The exterior landscape sets off the main body of the red exhibition area, and echoes the landscape of the terrace garden through the ramp connection. Coming to the balcony, the red speakers greeting visitors hide the secret of numerous voices, and the bright image of Nezha stands as a giant sculpture on the top of the exterior wall of the pavilion building. The red ribbon(the magical ribbon) flying in the hands of Nezha merges with the fog spray form of the terrace, overlaps and flies on the slide facilities, forming a beautiful, funny and lively impression of children on the terrace. All these will become a unique and beautiful scenery in the Expo.

The exhibition hall in the pavilion mainly uses new media interactive means, through projection, sensing and other technologies, with animation and games, to create a vibrant green world. The exhibition hall is divided into two parts. The visitors can interact and play with the classic animated characters who shuttle in the natural scenery. They can also enter the interesting journey of uncovering the secrets of animation production through interactive games. The immersive environment creates the future picture of the green home. In and out of the exhibition hall, according to the flexible changing theme of the International Week and the international animation image sculptures in all parts of the exhibition hall, it fully combines with the works of the CCTV animation, and transmits the Chinese culture and friendly message to all parts of the world.

During the Beijing International Expo, the CCTV Animation Pavilion will hold a variety of activities, including the CCTV Animation Pavilion Theme Day, International Animation Exchange Theme Day, Cartoon Cruise, Gardening Carnival, Cartoon Concert and other activities.
