Ticket Media CenterOn November 13-15, the Chongqing International Tourism Fair 2018 (also known as Chongqing Global Travel Agents Conference 2018) was held at the CQ International Convention & Exhibition Center in Nanping, Chongqing. The event marked the very first time the Chongqing International Tourism Fair has been held, and the fair brought together many premium resources of tourism destinations around the world to create a large-scale comprehensive exhibition of tourism featuring global influence. The Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition Coordination Bureau joined the delegation of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development to participate in the fair. It carried out promotional activities in front of more than 500 participating companies, 200,000 visitors and 20 exhibitors (countries or regions), and invited them to visit Beijing Expo 2019 to experience the amazing charm of the world’s highest-level horticultural exhibition at the foot of the Great Wall and on the banks of the Guishui River.

The Chongqing International Tourism Fair 2018 was sponsored by the Chongqing Tourism Bureau, and organized by the Chongqing Tourism Association and Beijing Relation Conference & Exhibition Services Co., Ltd. The event pools premium and professional tourism resources. Additionally, it is an effective platform to collectively exhibit and sell tourism services to the global tourism industry and to Chongqing citizens. The B2C promotion of tourism products guides consumers to adopt an improved tourism consumption concept and cultivate good habits of planned traveling so as to realize a win-win situation for regulators and the enterprises and tourists of the tourism industry. At the fair, several forums on recent trends and niche tourism industry markets, including the Hot Spring Tourism Development Summit and the Inland River Cruise Ship Forum, were held, bringing together different ideas for the development of the industry. The fair featured 500 exhibition booths, with a total exhibition area of more than 10,000 square meters. Visitors included 200 invited buyers, 500 professional buyers, more than 10,000 professional visitors, nearly 100,000 common visitors and more than 20 participating countries and regions.

The exhibition booth of Beijing Expo 2019 was located at the center of the Beijing exhibition section, covering an area of about 25 square meters. The booth featured Beijing Expo 2019-themed light panels, displaying more than 20 kinds of licensed products such as mascot ornaments, stuffed animals, top 10-flower silver stamps, sandalwood gift boxes, silk scarves, customized badges and T-shirts, arousing great interest among visitors. Visitors used their mobile phones to scan QR codes that allowed them to view the official flagship store of Beijing Expo 2019 and learn more about the products on offer. Also, they inquired in detail about Beijing Expo 2019, seeking information on topics such as the expo’s location, how to purchase tickets, themed activities and tourist routes. Nearly 1,000 brochures have been distributed to exhibitors, as well as visitors from China and other countries.

The fair brought together domestic and international tourism bureaus, airlines, airline alliances, hotel groups, resorts, scenic spots, theme parks, travel agencies and local travel agencies providing customized tours, smart technology travel service providers providing comprehensive travel projects, characteristic towns, tourism real estate projects and tourism-related industries, tourism news media and related associations, enterprises and institutions. As an A1-level World Horticultural Exposition, Beijing Expo 2019 has attracted wide attention from exhibitors across various fields. Such exhibitors have expressed strong willingness to cooperate with Beijing Expo 2019 to provide brand-new tourism products.
