Licensed Products of Beijing Expo 2019 Unveiled in Beijing Design Week 2018

On September 25, about 300 licensed products of Beijing Expo 2019 were unveiled in Beijing Design Week 2018, a platform with global influence aimed for the exchanges on and the trading of creative designs, which kicked off on September 22. The nearly 300 licensed products of Beijing Expo 2019 unveiled at the Beijing Expo 2019 new product launch on the website of JD.com will be available for on-line sales for the public via the flagship store of Beijing Expo 2019 licensed products on the website of Jingdong Group, one of Beijing Expo 2019’s global partners. Chief Economist Lin Jinwen of Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition Coordination Bureau, Party Secretary Liu Jing of Fuping County, Director Ma Jia of Service Division 1 of National Government Offices Administration, Deputy Director Yan Yan of Party Committee Office of Jingdong Group, Chairman Chen Shaoshu of Beijing Honav Group, and about a hundred concessionaire representatives of Beijing Expo 2019 attended the event. 

The “China Cultural Intellectual Property and Innovative Design Exhibition” is a key session of the Design Expo of Beijing Design Week 2018. It is a platform dedicated to the promotion of the growth of China’s cultural IP and the capacity of design for the purpose of boosting the original Chinese art brands, enhancing cultural confidence and cultural consciousness in our products as well as the people’s enthusiasm in cultural consumption. Beijing Expo 2019 uses this platform to release its licensed products. During the design week, nearly 100 new licensed products will be showcased in the National Agricultural Exhibition Center, which will not only publicize and promote the cultural and creative connotations of the licensed products of Beijing Expo 2019, but also disseminate the Expo’s philosophy of green development and environmental protection. In order to make the licensed products of Beijing Expo 2019 available to more consumers, more new products will be sold online simultaneously via the flagship store of licensed products of Beijing Expo 2019 on JD.com. After strict screening, Beijing Honav Group has become the operator of this flagship store.

“On the stage of Beijing Design Week, Beijing Expo 2019 launched its new licensed products on the platform of JD.com, not only to publicize the concepts, themes and goals of Beijing Expo 2019, but also to showcase the licensed products which are designed and developed on the basis of the Expo. In addition, through the promotion and online sales of the licensed products via the platform of Jingdong Group, one of the Expo’s global partners, and through online and offline integration, not only the sales of the licensed products of Beijing Expo 2019 will be promoted, but also the Expo’s theme, namely “Live Green, Live Better”, will be better known.

It is reported that the licensed products of Beijing Expo 2019 cover more than 800 products in 12 categories, including handicrafts, badges, stationery, household items, clothing and accessories, philatelic products, commemorative coins, precious metals, horticultural products, mascots and other cultural derivatives. In the development of the licensed products of Beijing Expo 2019, great attention was paid to the ingenuity of traditional craftsmanship as well as style design and sensory experience by inheriting classical oriental aesthetics and integrating modern aesthetic thoughts. A licensed product called “Beijing Expo 2019 out-of-water lotus flower ceramic cup” is made of ceramics with a flower-shaped cup rim. It glows pearl luster with a simple handle easy to hold and a smooth bottom printed with the emblem of Beijing Expo 2019. As to the overall quality of the ceramic cup, it is smooth and pearly, with innovative design and light color. There is another licensed product called “Beijing Expo 2019 succulent plant fridge magnet”, resembling the appearance of succulent plants, made of resin material with a powerful magnet attached to its back. It can be used as a refrigerator magnet or simply an ornament elsewhere, adding green and fun to our life.


At the launch of the licensed products, three fashion icons demonstrated a variety of new products of Beijing Expo 2019 and shared their experience in using these products and introduced their features. A stylish picnic backpack won the praise of everyone due to its ingenious design and a variety of built-in gear for picnic.

The exhibition stand of the new products of Beijing Expo 2019 showcased more than 100 licensed products such as fashionable mugs, ingenious key chains, creative fridge magnets, T-shirts and badges. Their creative designs are infused with the concepts of living a green, low-carbon life and environmental protection, fully illustrating the theme of Beijing Expo 2019. 

Launching the licensed products of Beijing Expo 2019 in Beijing Design Week will help to publicize the Expo’s theme of “Live Green, Live Better” and trigger a sales boom of the licensed products of Beijing Expo 2019.

The representatives from the concessionaires, such as Beijing Fanrong Culture Development Co., Ltd., Beijing Yuanlong Yatu Culture Dissemination Co., Ltd., Beijing Gongmei Group, Beijing Rainbow Textile & Garment Co., Ltd., Gold 100 Art, Yunnan Xintong Culture Communication Co., Ltd. and Baoquan Coin, also attended the event.
