Ticket Media CenterOn the morning of September 3, 2018, Zhou Jianping, executive deputy director of Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition Coordination Bureau (BIHECB), met with a delegation headed by Hans-Joachim Fuchtel, Parliamentary State Secretary and Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture of Germany as well as chief representative of the German Exhibition Zone at Beijing Expo 2019 in the headquarters of the Expo in Yanqing District, Beijing. During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on specific issues such as construction, personnel entry, and service guarantee. At the meeting, Executive Deputy Director Zhou and Deputy Director Wang introduced in detail to German guests the general information, planning layout, and participants of Beijing Expo 2019.
Zhou noted that China and Germany enjoys a long-standing friendship and close exchange and cooperation, and expressed his welcome and gratitude for Germany to attend Beijing Expo 2019. Fuchtel expressed his gratitude to BIHECB for its warm and friendly reception to the German delegation, as well as his sincere admiration for China’s excellent preparatory work for Beijing Expo 2019.

The two sides fully exchanged views on specific issues concerning power demand, accommodation and visa for staff members, and relevant activities of the German Exhibition Zone at Beijing Expo 2019. The German side explained the design concept of their exhibition zone. Fuchtel hopes that Beijing Expo 2019 will provide an opportunity for Germany to showcase its modern horticultural technologies and concept of sustainable urban development. He also said that as a participant, Germany will do its utmost to contribute to Beijing Expo 2019 and further strengthen exchange and cooperation with China in the fields of agriculture and horticulture. Zhou noted that Germany has a long history of horticulture and rich experience in participating in the International Horticultural Exhibitions, and he believes that the German Garden will become a highlight of Beijing Expo 2019.

After the talks, Wang accompanied members of the German delegation to visit the Expo Park under construction and the plot for the German Garden in the park. The German side spoke highly of the construction of the Expo Park and confirmed that the German Garden will soon begin construction.
