Executive Deputy Director Zhou Jianping of the coordination bureau, and Mr. Ali Al Dhaheri,
the UAE Ambassador to China
Zhou briefed Ambassador Dhaheri on the Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition 2019 (Beijing Expo 2019) and the current international participants. He expressed his gratitude to the UAE government for confirming its participation in the exhibition and hoped that the UAE government would appoint a commissioner-general of the UAE section as soon as possible so that they could move on into the next stage for exhibition.
The ambassador first expressed his welcome and gratitude to Executive Deputy Director Zhou and his delegation. He said that China and the UAE share time-honored friendly exchanges. After President Xi Jinping’s state visit to the UAE in July, the relationship between the two countries has risen to a comprehensive strategic partnership, thus opening a new chapter. The UAE government will take an active part in Beijing Expo 2019, start the construction of its exhibition garden as soon as possible, and strive to make a wonderful show at the exhibition.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on some specific issues of the exhibition. After the meeting, Executive Deputy Director Zhou invited Ambassador Dhaheri to visit the expo site whenever he saw fit. The ambassador gladly accepted the invitation and promised to schedule a visit in the near future.
