Ticket Media CenterOn April 23, on the occasion of one-year countdown to Beijing Expo 2019, the first “Colorful Beijing Expo” painted passenger aircraft made a successful debut, marking the beginning of activities for such countdown. Wonderful theme events were held in the aircraft co-designed by Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition Coordination Bureau and Air China, one of the global partners of the Expo, on its first flight from Beijing to Chongqing. And passengers on board shared the theme of“Live Green, Live Better”.
The B737-800 model painted passenger aircraft is decorated with emblem of the Expo on both sides of the nose. The sides of the fuselage are gorgeous freehand brushwork with color elements of the emblem, looking like flying phoenixes against the Great Wall, which symbolize an “international horticultural exhibition at the foot of the Great Wall”. At the tail of the aircraft, the mascots “Little Bud” and “Little Flower” are lovely and vivid. The whole aircraft has gorgeous colors and an outstanding theme, with both eye-catching logos and smart composition. It soars in the blue sky and brings the horticultural dreams of the Expo to every corner of the world.
On its debut flight,relevant people in charge of Air China and Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition Coordination Bureau as well asflight attendants invited all passengers to attend “Sharing Green Dreams” activity. They distributed seeds of sowing and hope, mascots of the Expo and themed arts and crafts of Yanqing District. If passengers take pictures of the growth of the seeds and the boarding pass of the flight or souvenirs of the Expo and post them in WeChat moments on the topic of “Sharing Green Dreams” before the Expo convenes, they will have the opportunity to receive tickets to the Expo or a model plane from Air China.
It is reported that Air China would sponsor the painting of a total of three passenger aircrafts to the Expo, including the “Colorful Beijing Expo” B737-800 which showed up this time, the “Blossoming Flower in aFlourishing Age” B737-800 expected to meet with the public in July, and the “Colorful Beijing Expo” Airbus A350 expected to meet with the public in October. At present, Air China’s route network has covered 39 countries and regions in six continents. Relying on Star Alliance, its flights can land in every corner of the world. With these airplanes, the colorful message of Beijing Expo 2019 will travel all over the world and reach the heart of everyone who loves horticulture and yearns for a green life.
As said by Cui Yong, Director of Promotion and Event Planning Department ofBeijing International Horticultural Exhibition Coordination Bureau, the successful debut of “Colorful Beijing Expo” B737-800 was exciting and inspiring, which marked the wide spread of the theme“Live Green, Live Better” and encouraged the whole society to pay attention to ecological civilization. Director Cui also expressed his gratitude to Air China for its strong support and for enabling the concept of “Bring Horticulture into Nature and Move the Mind with Nature” to take root in people’s heart. Luo Yong, General Manager of the Marketing Department of Air China, said that the theme flight activity was very educational, being rich in content and novel in form. The cultivation of an Expo seed will surely arouse public awareness and understanding of horticulture. Air China is also highly honored to be able to contribute to China’s ecological environment as a global partner of the Expo.
On April 29, 2018 when the Beijing Expo will usher in the anniversary of its one-year countdown, a series of countdown events will be held by Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition Coordination Bureau. The main event “New Age in Blossom” will be held in the morning of April 28 at Badaling International Convention and Exhibition Center to publicize preparatory work for the Expo. In addition, the planning and design plan for Beijing Park of China Pavilion will be formally announced. And a series of theme activities such as "A Glimpse of Beijing Expo Flowers" exhibition will be held.
It is learned that 2018 is a decisive year for preparing for Beijing Expo. The park of the Expo has now entered the stage of comprehensive construction. After the main part of China Pavilion, International Pavilion, and Life Experience Pavilion is finished, work on glass curtain walls, interior and exterior decoration, and electromechanical installation will be carried out. The greening of the park is being stepped up. Both World Horticultural Exhibition Area and China Horticultural Exhibition Area are ready for on-site construction. Promotion of the Expo has been steadily progressing. Up to now, 93 countries and international organizations including Russia, Germany, South Korea, India and Shanghai Cooperation Organization have confirmed their participation in writing. The design plans for the exhibition parks of 31 domestic provinces, regions, municipalities, and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan are stable. And the parks are gradually being constructed. Market development of the Expo has been promoted in an orderly manner. The second batch of global partners and senior sponsors are signing contracts. The first batch of 10 franchised product manufacturers and more than 400 franchised products have been formally launched.
