Ticket Media CenterThe 2018 Hong Kong Flower Show witnessed a grand opening on March 16 in the splendid Victoria Park. At the invitation of its Organizing Committee, Beijing World Horticultural Expo Coordination Bureau participated in the event with an elaborately designed booth, for publicity of 2019 Beijing World Horticultural Expo among exhibitors, relevant institutions and residents of Hong Kong SAR.
The 2018 Hong Kong Flower Show features as its theme flower the dahlia known for their dazzling colors and diverse shapes. Organized on the theme of “Joy in Bloom,” the event will last for 10 days, from March 16th to the 25th. And hundreds of thousands of citizens in Hong Kong are expected to visit. Ms. Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, came to the site of the event and delivered an opening speech. President Jiang Zehui and other leaders of China Flower Association attended the opening ceremony and visited the Beijing Expo Pavilion, together with leaders of competent authorities. Wu Gang the Deputy Director of Beijing World Horticultural Expo Coordination Bureau attended the opening ceremony with a delegation and launched promotional, exhibitional and exchange activities at the scene.
Covering an area of 225 square meters, the booth of 2019 Beijing World Horticultural Expo (2019 Beijing World Expo) has been designed in line with the theme of “Live Green, Live Better.” In exhibition, the concept of Chinese-style landscape gardens and traditional gardening elements are integrated for introducing to citizens of Hong Kong SAR the traditional Chinese horticultural culture and the story of the 2019 Beijing World Expo Park. “Cute Little Bud” and “Cute Little Sprout”, the mascots of Beijing World Expo are present at the exhibition venue as messengers to invite Hong Kong citizens to participate in the Expo. At the entrance of the exhibition venue, Chinese lanterns are used as the carriers of screens for airing the promotion video of 2019 Beijing World Expo, catching the eyes of many tourists. More than 1000 promotional leaflets and souvenirs on the Expo have been distributed in order to enhance the effectiveness of the publicity, augmented by interactive activities between the delegation and the audience.
Aside from citizens and tourists drawn to the Beijing Expo Pavilion for photos with it, many students from primary and secondary schools were organized for sketch creation in groups. The atmosphere was very lively and the publicity effect was outstanding. In the interactive session, many visitors expressed their best wishes for the 2019 Beijing World Expo and their hope for personally attending the grand event in Beijing.
