Sun Lili, secretary-general of the Mangrove Foundation introduced the mangrove’s unique wisdom of survival: as the only woody plant community in coastal area, mangrove can adapt to difficult and special living environment such as oxygen-deficient soil inintertidal zone, high salt content, and the tide washing, has evolved a variety of mechanisms in roots, stems, leaves and seeds to adapt to the environment, and grow into forest on the beaches other plants can hardly survive. At the same time, the mangrove plants give back to the environment that shapes its growth, making the intertidal zone an ideal environment for more plants.
