On August 22, Wang Jinzhen, Vice President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Member of the Organization Committee of the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exposition, and Chief Representative of the Government, met with the party of Ibrahim Thiaw, Assistant Secretary General and Deputy Director General at the UN Environment Program in Beijing, to have a thorough communication concerning inviting the UN Environment Program to participate in the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exposition.
Vice President Wang Jinzhen welcomed the party of the UN Environment Program, and gave them a detailed introduction to the basic situation of the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exposition. He said, at present, 30 countries and one international organization have confirmed to participate in the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exposition, and more than 90 countries and international organizations have expressed their active intention to participate in the exposition. The purpose and mission of the UN Environment Program is highly consistent with the theme of the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exposition, “Green Life, Beautiful Homeland”. He hoped that the UN Environment Program could have an active consideration and confirm their participation in the exposition as soon as possible.
Deputy Director General Ibrahim Thiaw expressed great interest in participating in the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exposition. Ha said, the UN Environment Program will give a serious consideration on participating in the exposition. They hope to show their concepts and achievements in the conservation of the natural environment and the promotion of the sustainable utilization of natural resources, and make a contribution to promote the development of world horticultural and international exhibition businesses with the help of this international platform.
