20 Countries Confirmed Participation in 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition

On April 13, the Organizing Committee of 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition (hereinafter referred respectively to as “the Organizing Committee” and “Beijing Expo 2019”) held a briefing meeting at the Beijing Hall of Beijing Hotel with diplomatic envoys from more than 80 countries and international organizations.


Wang Chuncheng, Deputy Director-General of Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition Coordination Bureaus (BIHECB), said in the introduction session, “Beijing Expo 2019 will attract more than 100 countries and international organizations to participate. It is of vital importance in 2017 to promote the exhibitor recruitment, so we will strive to complete 80% of the tasks in this regard, that is, to confirm 80 exhibitors from various countries and international organizations.”

Vice-President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and member of the Organizing Committee of Beijing Expo 2019 Wang Jinzhen, also acting as the representative of the government, stated that the Exhibition, with no less than 100 official exhibitors and 100 non-official exhibitors, as well as more than 16 million visitors, would be a gigantic arena of exhibition, exchange and trade for new varieties and new technologies in international horticulture with profound and far-reaching influence.


According to the introduction, World Horticultural Exhibition Hall will be divided into European area, Asian area, American area, Oceanian area and international organizational area. Outdoor exhibition zones, with an area of 1000 to 3000 square meters each, and indoor exhibition stands, with an area of 50 to 200 square meters each, are available to international exhibitors. Each country can hold various activities during the Exhibition, such as national festivals, featured cultural shows, business matchmaking, professional forums, etc. to promote ideas, products and technology, to attain more opportunities for cooperation, and to expand the market space.


It can be learned from Ye Dahua, Deputy Director-General of BIHECB, that the planning of World Horticultural Exhibition Hall has already been completed and furthermore, the architectural scheme “Flowery Sea, Flowery Umbrella” of International Pavilion for indoor exhibition has been determined. In regard to the content of exhibition, focusing on its theme of “Fusion and Bloom”, International Pavilion will display international horticulture by exploiting the strategic meaning of One Belt, One Road, reveal the accomplishments and contributions of different countries, international organizations and relevant international organizations in the horticulture, and hold the international horticultural contests to promote innovation and development in horticultural sector.


According to Zhou Jianping, Executive Deputy Director-General of BIHECB, since the beginning of the comprehensive underground pipe corridor construction on Feb. 20, the infrastructural construction in the Expo Park has been in full swing and the planning of the Park and supporting infrastructure are now almost complete.


It is learned that 80% of the public landscape in the Park is about to finish and the construction of outdoor exhibition zones is going to initiate. Meanwhile, Beijing Expo 2019 will strive to complete 80% international exhibitor recruitment, to increase the awareness, attention and participation of Chinese and foreigners, and to proactively attract the participation of various famous companies both at home and abroad to take part in this event.
